Temple Street Night Markets, Hong Kong

Recently I stopped off in Hong Kong for a quick visit.

When I was there, I visited one of my favourite places to grab a quick, cheap bite to eat - the Temple Street Night Markets in Jordan.

These markets are fast paced, lively and bustling with crowds.  Be careful of pick pocketers!

Although the markets themselves are a tourist attraction, you will see many locals also visiting to eat at the stalls near the markets.  There are about five or so to choose from, each of them displaying fresh seafood tanks and outdoor seating on rickety stools. We picked Temple Street Spicy Crab but you will find that the dishes and pricing amongst all the stalls are generally the same.  Don't eat here if hygiene and decor is your number one priority, because this is dining rough style!

The service is fast and the prices are reasonable.  These four dishes below came to about 350HKD, which is currently about 50 AUD. There were two of us, and we left feeling absolutely stuffed.

Seafood bean curd hot pot

Garlic jumbo prawns with vermicelli

Pippies with black bean sauce

Fried rice

If you get a chance, do come here for a meal - it is buzzing and you won't regret it!
