All Good Things Eatery, Kingsgrove

I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I must confess that I am a bit confused about what is happening with All Good Things.

I had been looking online for a local cafe to visit for brunch.  Lots of reviews popped up for All Good Things, and they all raved about the Greek style food available - prawn kritharaki, pork belly plates.

So I told my friend that we should meet there for brunch on a rainy Friday morning.  I showed up to discover that the venue was quite empty (not surprising for a Friday morning when most people would be at work, and it was raining), and also that the menu wasn't Greek at all.  I have conducted some further detective work (frantic googling) online to try solve this mystery and there seem to be a few buried references to the business having been sold.  I suppose at that point in time, the new owners decided to change the menu?

Given the Greek cuisine seemed to be the main selling point of this cafe, it would have been good if this change was more publicised.  This blog post is my civic duty to announce to all that the Greek style menu is no longer available at this cafe.

Instead, the menu is relatively ordinary - both for lunch and breakfast.  The breakfast menu is available all day and covers the usual varieties of eggs. bacon, toast, avocado, pancakes.

I ordered a flat white which was decent and after pondering this menu conundrum, decided to order the breakfast bruschetta.

Breakfast bruschetta ($14)
Halloumi, tomato, basil, onion and smoked salmon

The serving size was more than generous, and came with a beetroot puree on the side.

There was a large amount of both smoked salmon and halloumi on the toast - so much so that I couldn't finish the halloumi, and that is saying something because I like the squeaky cheese.

I was pleased to see that they used my favourite salad garnish - pea shoots!

Bacon and egg roll ($8)
Milk bun, cheese, spinach and BBQ aioli

My friend ordered the bacon and egg roll  I didn't taste it but she told me it was nice.

The service was prompt and friendly, although there was only one other table there so we didn't have much competition.  I can see the place being busy on weekends - the cafe takes up a large area and despite Kingsgrove getting a lot of new shops over the last couple of years, it is still hard to find good food along the main road.
